The problem every international job seeker faces
You spend hours finding a great job, writing a cover letter, and applying — only to find out the company doesn't sponsor visas. It's frustrating, time-consuming, and discouraging. Most job listings don't tell you upfront whether they'll sponsor you or not.
Where the data comes from
Every year, companies in the US are required to officially report when they hire someone on a work visa. This is public information — filed with the US government. SponScore collects years of this data across hundreds of thousands of companies, so we know which employers have actually sponsored workers in the past.
How we turn that into a score
Think of it like a report card for companies. We look at things like: how many people they've sponsored, whether they've been doing it consistently year after year, and whether their sponsorship is growing or shrinking. We combine all of that into a single easy-to-read number between 0 and 100.
A higher score means the company has a stronger track record of sponsoring international workers. A lower score means they rarely do — or never have.
What about the OPT score?
OPT is a program that lets international students work in the US after graduation. The OPT Signal shows you which companies are more likely to hire students on OPT, based on their broader hiring patterns. It's a signal, not a guarantee — but it gives you a meaningful advantage when deciding where to apply.
How the extension works
Once you install SponScore, it runs quietly in the background while you browse job boards like LinkedIn, Indeed, or Glassdoor. When it detects a job listing, it automatically looks up that company and shows you its score — right on the page, without you having to do anything. No extra tabs, no copy-pasting company names.
What each score means
Elite
This company sponsors a lot of workers, does it consistently, and is actively growing. One of the best options for international candidates.
Strong
A reliable sponsor with a solid track record. Worth applying — they have real experience with the process.
Moderate
They've sponsored before but not at a high volume or consistently. It's possible, but do more research before investing time in an application.
Weak / Low
Little to no sponsorship history. This doesn't mean they'll never sponsor — but the data doesn't support it. Proceed with caution.
